Banana's?!

I happened to drive by a restaurant the other day. It was called "The Banana's", under which it was written Home of Pan Pizza's. Why some one would name a Pizza joint - The Banana's - is something I clearly fail to understand. Even the waiter didn't seem to have any answer. Its the managements call he says. Duh! Like I didn't know that.

Anyways 'The Banana's' looked like it was worth a try. But the apparent home for Pan Pizza's was quite shit. I'd rather go to Pizza Hut. Very limited choice. The pizza I had was not great at all. The chillie flakes was basically chillie powder and the oregano was like saw dust! They had just one desert on the menu which was banana's and honey pizza in various sizes of 8", 11" and 14 ". I wished to try one of those but, 5 minutes after ordering for one, the waiter comes to me and says, "Sir, its going to take about 15 mins. We have no banana's and our person has gone to buy em". I looked up at the name board which you can see above and looked back at him and I said "well done"!

I just paid my bill eventually and walked out. The Home of Pan Pizza's must learn how to make pizza's. And I wish I would learn one day the logic behind its name - The Banana's.

My First!!

This being my first post, I really do not know what to say. I have seen, read, cursed and ridiculed many a blogs and the whole idea of blogging! A very dear friend of mine, one of my closest, ScarS initiated this. I chatted with him after days today and this is what he ended up making me do! He started one himself a couple of weeks ago and instigated me totally to set up one for myself. "As simple as creating an email ID" he says.

ScarS and me have always done things together (internet related), ever since we got our hands on the internet, be it creating email ID's, emailing, chat on IRC, internet porn, et al! Therefore, this first post is dedicated to him.

I vividly remember, sometime back in 1997 when I got my first computer and got it hooked up to the internet, ScarS and me used to practically live on the internet doing crazy stuff together. We would send emails, chat on IRC with random people and were probably the most dedicated viewers of the biggest industry on the internet - porn!! All this internet buff business came to an end one fine day when ScarS decided to move to Pune to study at Mahindra UWC.

Whilst ScarS was at UWC and me back in good ol' Chen, we had emailing competitions of who sent larger mails. The largest mail was of about 23 or 24k, if I remember right, from me after which we decided to put an end to this nonsense. I can never imagine actually sitting down today and typing out a mail that big without any attachments. We actually had that much of gossip or whatever it was to type at that point of time! If I were to read those mails today, it would probably put me to sleep, but back in the day, it was the most interesting thing to do. Ironically, at this point of time, I'm in Pune and ScarS is back in good ol' Chen. We still chat through email - thanks to gmail conversations!

Well, today after soo many years, we've come a long way, but the memories of the past still linger in our souls. In some way or the other we still end up doing things, if not together atleast around the same time, thanks to the influence of the other! Unfortunately we dont live as neighbours anymore, but the friendship and the bond still holds very strong. I'm most proud of that. Cheers bud!
